Those in the loop jolly well know what are the Bridgestone brand’s most popular models here in our local tyre market – the Potenza GIII, and the Potenza S-03 Pole Position.
These two tyres cater towards very different segments. The Potenza GIII is relatively popular among boy racers who demand the best in performance in both wet and dry, whereas the S-03 was appreciated by those with high-end performance sedans, needing tenacious grip day in and day out.
As you know, they have been around for some time. Not that both tyres are losing its relevance in the current tyre market, but savvy consumers these days, predictably, demand and expect more.
With the input of ex-F1 driver Stefano Modena, the appointed Development Driver for this new tyre, Bridgestone gave birth to a new Potenza – the RE001 Adrenalin.
More Adrenalin…
The technical engineers at Bridgestone emphasize that “driving fast” is not the same as “sporty driving”. They see “sporty driving” as a certain kind of pleasure that should be able to be felt when driving any car, at any speed.
It is the sensation of becoming one with the vehicle, when tyres and suspension faithfully transmit the feeling of the road directly to the driver’s hands on the wheel.
More importantly, it is the satisfaction the driver gets from a car that responds to every input.
When people think of a sports tyre, most people think of powerful grip and speedy response. And indeed, most sports tyres use that as their selling points.
The Potenza RE001 Adrenalin, based on Stefano Modena’s concept, developed in Rome for over a year, aims to ensure real driving pleasure that can be experienced by just about ANYONE.
Obviously, this involves going beyond the simple issues of powerful grip and speedy response.
In addition, some factors include:
-Stability in all situations
-Precise, accurate but not over-sensitive in response
-The message conveyed to the driver/steering on the condition of tyres and road surface
