The inside story

The steering wheel, probably taken off the old 206, is also a tad big for my personal liking.

If there's ever a cheerful place you need to be in, the 107 is the perfect place. Although covered mainly in drab grey, the addition of locally-fitted two-tone yellow and black leathered seats certainly liven things up. Ok, so it is of a different shade of yellow than the exterior, but heck, I still love it anyway. And together with the big windows and nicely-sized A, B and C pillars, gives an airy feeling to the whole interior - thankfully, that also contributes to good all-around vision while driving.

Over at the cockpit, controls are well laid out for the driver. But the platicky air-con controls seem pretty cheap - like the toys Aniq has in abundance in his room. The steering wheel, probably taken off the old 206, is also a tad big for my personal liking. Lets not forget the wiper and signal stalks - nothing wrong, really, but I think I've seen it in a few Toyota models...

At the same time, there's much to love about the quirky tacho and speedometer though.

The front two seats are comfortable - no qualms about that - but during enthusiastic driving, it just lacks support.

The rear bench should be able to accommodate three adults with adequate leg and shoulder room. Headroom could be an issue for slightly taller passengers though, as even for someone of my height - who's only 1.68m tall - my head is already touching the roof when I'm seated upright.

Boot space is nothing to shout about, really, but it should be able to accommodate three sports bags stacked on top of each other. Need more space? Just fold the backrest down and you can fit in bigger items.

I can lay testament to the fun drive of this car. It's just going back to basics - lightweight and 3 cylinder engine makes the drive an unadulterated affair.
