Toyota bB 1.3 (A)
I have always been in love with the looks of the Toyota bB, so acquiring one is a dream come true. Ideal Cars Pte Ltd - the dealer I got the car from - gave me an absolutely unbeatable price for the car, one that I couldn't refuse.
I've been driving it for more than one month, and have already clocked approximately 720km. I love each and every moment spent with the car - particularly the spaciousness and ease of taking my family out for trips. Once, I had to take four other adults - who are relatively above average in size - and one child, but the roominess in the car made it a pleasant journey from Yishun to Bukit Timah (which was more than 40 minutes of drive). My grandparents could also easily get in and out of the car because of the 80-degrees opening door, and the height of the car - yes, most of my family members can literally "walk-into" the car.
On another trip, my dad purchased four tall pots (about 1.5-metres tall each) of orchids, and we manage to transport all without them bending over.
One downside though - its body-roll is relatively obvious when doing fast and sharp cornering.
But still, I will recommend this car. If you are looking for a car that is (a) simply different (that really says you), (b) comfortable and spacious for the family, (c) easy to drive and (d) fuel-efficient (I'm clocking an average of 13 to 15km/l and this is before the first run-in), go for it.

Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.6 (M)
After five years and 52,000km clocked, only two words best describe the car: "extremely reliable". Over its course, it hasn't given me any trouble at all - besides the usual wear and tear, I've yet to do any major repairs. The last part replacement I did was less than a month ago - a new battery (the second one for my Lancer).
Proud to say, I'm still happy with how sporty my Lancer looks despite its age. I'm contemplating a new paintjob now, to cover all those ugly dings and blemishes!
But if there's one major improvement the car needs, I will have to point out the sound-proofing for the cabin. Mitsubishi seem to miss out on this, so much so, it can get quite annoying when driving along the North-South Highway. I have to result to blasting the audio system because of this.
Ever since the warranty period ended, I've been sending my car to a third-party workshop as it is far cheaper than sending it back to Cycle & Carriage. That's the other good point of owning a Lancer - parts are easy to source and widely available.
So, if you're simply looking for a dependable sedan to get you from point A to point B, you can't go wrong with the Lancer.
