After teasing us with a showroom model earlier this year, the E-Class cabriolet has finally bared it all for us - here in Singapore.

Who’s your daddy?

It's probably the fastest-looking car in its class today - at standstill.

Call it whatever-Class you want, but there's no denying that the latest convertible from Stuttgart's Three Pointed Star is one heck of a sexy thing.

Strictly speaking, the latest two-door, four-seater is a CLK-Class replacement. But it looks as if it were more like a distant cousin that a brother, or a leggy sister. It's probably why the folks at Mercedes-Benz decided to rid of the CLK-Class completely and "up" it into the E-Class segment.

But four-seater convertibles are not new to the E-Class range. For those of us who are of certain vintage, we would remember the boxy looking E-Class convertibles from the early-to-mid 90s (They were technically the first E-Class convertibles as the name was only coined in 1994).

Anyway, the 1990s E-Class convertible was a boxy tub. It looked as if someone handed Edward the Scissorhands a chainsaw to work his magic on an E-Class W124 coupe. Then came the CLK-Class in the mid-1990s, which design was more palatable. But it was still uninspiring.
