About Us
All we ever do at Oneshift, really, is ponder over what car to get a hold of, and then review the living daylights out of it. Which car to buy, what to look out for and form informed opinions thru analysis to help the the rest of us who are looking for a the best car to buy to enrich our lives. The entire editorial team at Oneshift thrives, and exists only because of three things – cars, motorsports and automotive culture. In today’s world of advertisement driven, politically skewed reviews, we’re here to tell you that we don’t care. What we do care about is what you hear from us. We will tell the story like it is, as objectively as possible, of course. Our style of writing is geared towards the blue and white collared layman who loves cars, just like you and me, but with a touch of depth and candidness. Our team is aware that not everyone gets to sign out a Mitsubishi Lancer or a Mercedes S class, let alone a Nissan Fairlady or a Maserati, then drive it around for a day or two.Where it counts, we use that privilege to our advantage – making our opinions heard, and knowing that it makes that little difference to your car buying experience, or at the very least, enriching your passion for anything with four wheels and/or a spare. |

Raymond LaiIf a new car has just been launched, you can expect him to be among the first few to get his hands on it. He has driven almost everything you can think of, from sedans to SUVs, MPVs to sportscars, and even race cars - which is no surprise as to why he's a respected figure in our local industry. Besides being a walking automotive encyclopaedia, he's also a Formula 1 fanatic, always up to date with latest news from the sports - which should also explain why he's accredited by the FIA. As you can see, his quiet personality hides many secrets. He also has his mood swings, but thankfully, we're been seeing his good side most of the time. |

Justin LeeLike any car-crazy teenager, Justin dreamed to becoming a car designer, and even got himself into Art Center College of Design, and he shared a flat with Luc Donckerwolke. He himself blew his chance to join Porsche when at his interview said he wanted to work for a car company that produced a range of cars, from small hatchbacks to MPVs, and even though he counts the Citroen DS and 2CV as his favourite cars, he criticized the then American-born design chief at Citroen for the then-new ZX for being dull and uninspired. Ever questioning the status quo, Justin prefers small cars economical cars to large and fast ones - he believes it is only when resources are tight that true innovation and inspiration can thrive. Justin is currently a lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design. |

C.K LimAsk him anything about geography, and you can rest assured you'll get an answer. C.K, our specialist in the field of luxury sedans and sports cars, lives and breathes anything with four wheels. Another seasoned serial typist in our local motoring industry, his other penchant includes (not surprisingly) food? He knows where to find the best food on our island (and now you know why we say he is good in geography). Two things you must know about C.K? Firstly, he's very camera-shy and secondly, he has a large collection of old automotive magazine hidden off prying eyes somewhere in his house? |

YangYang might be the oldest of us among here but he certainly has the youngest heart. He has spent much of his life test driving cars, writing about them and last but not least, taking photos of them. In fact, he spends more time doing photography more than writing these days – taking photos of cars, events, other subject matter and even weddings. When not holding his camera or zipping around in test drive cars, he zooms around the neighbourhood in his old school 'ah beng' car. |

Edwin LohEdwin Loh suffers from automobile distractia, a condition that recognisable with the involuntary shift of attention to any attractive automobiles that are in close proximity. His parents suspect it has something to do with a bump on the head with a Porsche 930 toy car when he was a kid. Perhaps that also explains why he is a Journalism major student at the Nanyang Technological University. He also has an obsessive desire to perfect his heel-toe downshift technique. Then again, Edwin is a staunch supporter of old school stick-shift manual cars. |
