New look for Chevy's volume seller
Like its predecessor, the new Aveo5 offers strong passenger protection with over 40% of the passenger cell made of high-strength steel. For enhanced side-protection, the B-pillar is made of three steel plates of different thickness – these plates are welded together so that in an event of a side impact, the B-pillar moves like a pendulum rather than being folded and protruding into the passenger compartment.
“The new Aveo5 continues to offer savvy drivers an outstanding car at an affordable price,” said Mr Kittichai, MD of General Motors ODC. “All Chevrolets offer features that enhance the driving experience and make the driving more comfortable and enjoyable. With every new model, we continue to raise the bar in this regard and the new Aveo5 is no exception, taking the customer closer still to the perfect driving experience.”
The new Aveo5 offers a 1.4-litre engine capable of 94bhp @ 6,200rpm and a maximum torque of 130Nm @ 3,400rpm, and is available in both manual and automatic transmission. Price is pegged at $49,188 for the manual, and $52,188 for the automatic.
