The new Octavia's launch took place last night at Skoda's showroom located along Leng Kee Road.

During the event, two Skoda Octavia models were revealed - the sedan and the Combi. Each model, in turn, will have two variants: the TSI and VRS. Each variant will be powered by either a 1.4 liter TSI or 2 liter TSI engine.

The turbocharged 1.4 liter TSI engine has an output of 122 hp @ 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1,500 - 4,000 rpm. Power is directed to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG gearbox with Tiptronic function. The powerplant conforms to the future Euro 5 emission standard, and has a combined fuel consumption rating of 6.3 liters/100 km.

Octavia VRS variants will be powered by the turbocharged 2 liter TSI engine, which produces 200 hp between 5,100 - 6,000 rpm and 280 Nm from 1,700 - 5,000 rpm. The 2 liter unit is paired with a 6-speed DSG gearbox, which is also equipped with Tiptronic function. The engine also conforms to Euro 5 emissions.
