The new team, SC Global Racing, was unveiled in Singapore last week, ahead of the opening round of the 11-race season which will be an official support race for the 2008 FORMULA 1™ Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix this coming weekend.

In addition to the title campaign, SC Global will also be title sponsor of the official support race to the 2008 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix in September, which will be known as the "Porsche SC Global Carrera Cup Asia – Singapore 2008", and is the race series’ Official Real Estate Partner for the entire 2008 season.

Commented Mr. Simon Cheong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SC Global Developments, “SC Global, like our clients, is discerning, driven and demands excellence in everything we do, so what better way to make our debut in the exciting world of motorsport than with a Champion at the helm of our new SC Global Racing team?”

Marsh is one of Asia’s best known motorsport personalities, and one of only a handful of drivers from the region to have competed in some of the world’s greatest Grand Touring races - The Le Mans 24-Hours in France; the Daytona 24-Hours in the USA; the German Nürburgring 24-Hours; Australia’s Bathurst 24-Hours; and the FIA GT Championship.

He has raced on just about every Asian race track, and has won on both the sweeping Formula One tracks as well as some of the region’s most demanding and difficult shorter tracks. No stranger to street circuits, Marsh has visited the podium at the Macau Grand Prix more than once, having tamed the notorious Guia Circuit. This will stand him in good stead on Singapore’s new Marina Bay Circuit come September when Formula One, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia makes its debut here.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will be held this weekend on Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit, after which the series travels to Shanghai in April, then on to Southern China’s Zhuhai International Circuit and Sentul in Indonesia. In September, it will be an official support race to the 2008 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, before returning to Shanghai in October for the 2008 FORMULA 1™ Sinopec Chinese Grand Prix. The grand finale is once again scheduled to be part of the Macau Grand Prix weekend in November.
