Introduction

Renault says the Clio IV is young, sexy and sporty.

I don’t disagree.

Much anyway. You see there are some aspects of the car that are a little less than young (or more depending on how you see age) and it isn’t exactly going to beat its cousin the Megane RS for hot-hatch cred. But then you don’t pay RS money either so that’s a save for the Clio.

What it’s supposed to be then is a small hatchback that is relatively inexpensive ($105,999 at 26 Feb 2016) and offers practicality, economy and the oh-so-sought-after “continental feel” whilst keeping it modern through to at least mid way of your COE lifespan.

In other words, Renault’s best selling model returns to do what it always did best, be of good value and give traditional powerhouses like Volkswagen and the JDM hatches a serious run for the money.
