Subaru XV 1.6I-S AWD CVT Review
Across the Valley

Introduction, updates

The XV is a very new vehicle – this is just its first incarnation albeit in revised form here.

However, it has been something of a popular car, judging by both global and local reception. The main bulk of the reason for that can be attributed to the looks. The highly competitive compact SUV segment sees a great many things pop up to vie for attention, and to survive the onslaught of competition car makers have to punch hard.

With the XV, all was well back in 2011 when it first debuted as a concept. In production there was little to criticise with sleek lines and a sharply raked front and rear screens that injected a sense of sportiness that soften the look of the traditional rugged SUV look. The revisions made here aren’t huge; more detail has been added to the car giving more depth to the design that was already pretty damn attractive.

Of course if you can’t tell the differences visually at a glance, you won’t be the only one.

That said there’s no need to thoroughly revise a successful recipe; the interior on the hand is a whole other story. Much like the Levorg, the new interior is up to par with the times and features much nicer materials and finishing than before; more leather and orange stitching may sound insignificant but do wonders in the flesh.
