Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet C200 Review

Introduction & Exterior

The C200 also features their innovative AIRCAP draught stop system which aids in reducing air turbulence for both front and rear seat passengers

There is a sedan, estate, coupe, and now a cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz’s compact executive range has something for everyone. Compact dimensions means a car that is easy to steer in cramped quarters, but then, you do get +2 seating, which in my view, still offers very generous legroom.

Under the current head of design, Gordon Wagner, the German manufacturer has been churning out cars with refreshing new looks, while still keeping true to the Mercedes-Benz identity. The C Class Cabriolet sports rear end styling which draws a hint of mid-50s influence.

Frontal styling of the cabriolet receives the diamond grille design which can be found on a number of their current cars. Flanking the grille is an organically sculpted headlamp cluster, featuring LED High Performance headlamps.

Bold shoulders flank the sides of the car, and taper off at the rear, where smoothly integrated tail lamps, keep constant the body styling. The third brake lamp for the cabriolet is cleverly sited in the chrome decorative surrounding sill. There are twin tail pipe covers. Covers for tail pipes… meaning that the real ones are somewhere in there, to add to rear symmetry.

The C200 also features their innovative AIRCAP draught stop system which aids in reducing air turbulence for both front and rear seat passengers. A wind louvre above the front windscreen extends outward, increasing airflow above the passenger compartment, while the rear draught stop reduces backdraught for rear passengers. Holding a decent conversation with the roof down is actually possible.

Good response and support from Angie at One Shift when I wanted to sell off my old Camry which was due to be scrapped in early February. Would recommend this platform for those wanting to buy or sell their cars.
