Porsche Panamera 3.0 Review

6 Oct 2017

Our test car came with 21” High Gloss Black Sport Design wheels, just one of fifteen choices

It is not very often that a car leaves a long-lasting impression, but the new Panamera surely did. Styling-wise, there is just a slight departure from the previous car, and it still nods to the 911.

There are plenty of expectations to satisfy, it has to drive like a relaxed GT car, provide enough interior space, especially in terms of legroom for the rear passengers, and still deliver on cargo space, to be practical.

And the Panamera does it all. Our test car was the base model, and here are our thoughts.

The previous car had the similar squat looking rear and tail lamps, at the time echoed the period 911 (997). Sheet metal was formed to show flared out shoulder line.

But it turned heads, rather more of because it was a Porsche, than it looked really good, but it there was a spot of flair missing.

The new Panamera addresses details lacking in the previous car. There is a little bit of added flare in the front and rear wheel arches, as compared to the old car. Engineers have also lowered the roofline by 20mm at the rear, to stylistically ape the 911. Tail lights too follow the current 911 lines. Up in front, a new set of LED Matrix headlamps under those lenses.

Our test car came with 21” High Gloss Black Sport Design wheels, just one of fifteen choices.
