Another welcome change are the newly designed 19” alloys

Nissan’s X-Trail gets a refreshed look for 2018. Just like the Qashqai, the X-Trail receives new styling front and rear. There are also a handful of new features intended to breathe life into the car’s mid-life facelifted form.

But with new competition from the likes of fellow Japanese manufacturers, and European ones, whom we do admit, have some very pretty designs out there, how does the X-Trail stack up?

New boomerang-style headlamps flank a larger new grille, which features thick chrome trim, while new rectangular foglamps in the front bumper, sit neatly and complement the headlamp design better.

While the car does lose that decorative silver scruff-plate which seems to go under the car, we strongly believe that it will not be missed. In-place, the X-Trail has a chrome strip.

In the rear, tail lamps have also received a redesign, with more clearly defined brake lights, but unlike the front, gets a new chromed up rear faux scruff plate.

Another welcome change are the newly designed 19” alloys, which are more aggressive in looks, compared to the pre-facelift.
