In its sights, there are the likes of BMW’s 4 Series and even their cousin from a different mother, the Audi A5
Volkswagen’s new Arteon may have taken the company’s new design language up a few notches. Where it gets to me is how the car draws the stares from people as I step out of it… or did I just have another of my bad hair days…
But in all honesty, the Arteon’s only similarity to the car it replaces is in terms of styling is in its four-doored coupe box it sits in, and we believe presents a vast improvement over the CC. But then again, the Arteon was not intended only as a CC replacement, but a car more importantly fielded to up the game for Volkswagen.
In its sights, there are the likes of BMW’s 4 Series and even their cousin from a different mother, the Audi A5. But compared to the latter, they are really very different cars, with the A5 sitting on their MLB platform built for longitudinally-mounted engines, while Volkwagen’s own rides on the widely-deployed MQB, built for the more common east-west type engine configuration.
The new car features the largest clamshell bonnet, with a stretched out radiator grill which integrates into the headlamps, encompasses the entire width of the car. There are also the flared rear flanks, hinting of just a little aggressiveness.
The Arteon is also longer than its sedan sibling, the Passat, with an added 46mm added to the wheelbase, certainly a plus for legroom to those seated at the rear.
With a lower roofline than the Passat, which also slopes downward the rear, and C pillars pulled further back, producing a sleek and sporty silhouette.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Renai from SwiftQuote to make the transaction a smooth and pleasant experience. I would highly recommend the team from SwiftQuote!!
