Jaguar F-Type Coupe 2.0 (300 PS) Review
The Definitive F-Word

meaning that it’s more affordable, easier on fuel consumption… meaning that cool styling and street cred is a little more within reach

When the F-Type first made an appearance, the world noticed. Its eye-catching design, hinting strongly of the original E-Type, made waves. Its characteristic flowing lines, purposeful creases, bulges and scoops, together with thin LED lighting boasts of power with a hint of lightness. We certainly loved how the car oozed character, especially when compared to the XK it replaces.

But the F-Type’s sublime styling actually speaks volumes of with really is underneath. Lightweight aluminium is used in the car’s architecture, and Jaguar had gone through great lengths to ensure that the chassis is extremely rigid and strong. Panels are bonded together with adhesive similar to the type used in the aerospace industry to build aircraft, and further compressed together with boron steel rivets for added joinery strength. Weight savings are also evident in the seat construction, with magnesium utilised in-place of conventional steel.

But to us, this is a very special F-Type, as it does carry on it a 2.0… meaning that it’s more affordable, easier on fuel consumption… meaning that cool styling and street cred is a little more within reach.

But that aside, how is living with a “milder” F-Type?
