Short overhangs also bring about a more purposeful stance
The current-day mention of the Suzuki Swift evokes thoughts of mostly yellow coloured Swift Sport hatchbacks going “Brraaaap” down the highway right past you. The hotter Swift Sport has for years been a popular choice for those seeking a bang-for-buck entertaining drive.
Well the Swift is back, after disappearing from the market for a bit, and higher-trending COEs had also not done the car any favours. While the pocket rocket Sport will take a while, Suzuki’s dealership, Champion Motors has first released the bread and butter 1.0, which we feel is a more important car to them.
The new car is moderately shorter than the one it replaces, though the wheelbase has seen an increase of 20mm. The new car features a larger hexagonal grille, flanked by mildly angry looking headlamps. Short overhangs also bring about a more purposeful stance.
The tiny hatch’s downward sloping roofline, coupled with the slight up-sloping window line hints at a sense of sportiness. This time, Suzuki had opted to go a little fancier, with “hidden” door handles in the blacked-out ‘C’ pillar.
Adding to its visual girth, the rear tail lamps are extended to the far edges, and together with the pronounced bump in the boot lid, leaves an impression that the car is a little larger than it really is.
Prompt and Fast. Service officer Muhd Yazid was very helpful in guiding the sales, and when urgent assistance is required! Kudos to officer for being able to address all queries.
