Unlike its prestigious German competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz, Audi is the only brand that has been offering two separate line-ups of performance models for some time now. There’s the RS range, Audi’s equivalent of BMW’s M and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG cars. And then there’s the S line of performance cars. The S variants bridge the gap between Audi’s regular models and the supercar slaying RS cars. It was only recently that BMW finally followed in the footsteps of Audi to introduce M Performance models, a range that will go head-to-head with Audi’s S line of cars.
While BMW’s M Performance line features only the M135i as well as the oil burning, tri-turbo M550d and X5/X6 M50d models, each Audi model range from the A3 to the A8, bar the Q3 and Q7 SUVs, A1 and the R8 features an S model. One of the latest S models introduced by the Four Rings is the S6. Based on the latest C7 A6, the S6 is available in either saloon or Avant as well as in S7 Sportback body styles when it reaches our shores in late October. Luckily for us, we’ve already sampled it in Munich, Germany recently.
It won’t take an eagle eyed to be able to differentiate the S6 from the lesser 3.0 TFSI quattro version, despite the latter featuring a S line aero kit. Dead giveaways on the S6 include the 20-inch S parallel-spoke ‘Star’ design wheels wrapped in 255/35 R20 tyres, silver horizontal bars on the single frame radiator grille, aluminium look door mirrors, deeper bumpers, quad exhaust tips, a subtle boot spoiler and ‘V8 T’ on the front wings as well as ‘S6’ badges on the boot lid and radiator grille.
The S6’s exterior enhancements like the quad exhaust tips, boot lid spoiler do give it a significantly more purposeful stance when compared to a ‘normal’ A6 variant. Typical of Audi’s S models, the S6 is once again an example of understated sportiness.

Good response and support from Angie at One Shift when I wanted to sell off my old Camry which was due to be scrapped in early February. Would recommend this platform for those wanting to buy or sell their cars.
