CitroŽn C4 Coupe 1.6i - VTR Review
VTR stands for...

Very Terrible. Really, the cars I've been grabbing a hold of from the east during the past year. First was the Chery QQ, which attempted to kill me. Then came the Hafei Minz, and as if China couldn't leave me alone, a plagiarized Seat Toldeo? Thank god then, this Citroen saves the day and brings us back into the world of automotive integrity.

It has always been my opinion that owners, like their Citroens, tend to dance a beat very different from the norm. This rather perky looking “small” coupe is no exception.

This C4 coupe arrives on our shores nearly a year too late, and finds itself immersed in a sea of competing cars that all try to say “mine is bigger and better than yours”. However, that wouldn’t really be the way to look at this car then, would it? Then again, what would you know…

This car tries to hit you hard with high and mighty levels of safety, innovation and equipment. Citroen even boasts that safety levels in a car this small has never been higher, and not to mention, better.

The distinctive exterior styling of the C4 is the work of Donato Coco. The current C4 is not the first Citroën to bear this designation; Citroën previously produced a C4 in 1928.
What it does

The C4’s maker claims to be the “reference” for rear seat space, even in the coupe, as it shares nearly the same dimensions as its five door hatch sister.

Citroen makes it a point to emphasize on the lengths it has gone to pamper both driver driver and passengers. “The cabin of the C4 was designed to optimize passenger comfort with attention paid to ergonomics, acoustics and ambience.” Or so they say…

Leather seats were standard in our test car, and they are by far, one of the most supportive and most comfortable seats we have ever sat in. More so than a BMW, or Mercedes, and definitely more so than the Chevrolet Epica we were driving around just a few weeks ago.

The only thing to nearly breach the C4’s high level of comfort to date, would be the Peugeot 207 GTi, of which had us really impressed with its luxuriously appointed, deep set bucket seats. However, the C4 wins by a mile, simply because it isn’t a sports tourer, or simply put, a purpose built performance hatch.

Good response and support from Angie at One Shift when I wanted to sell off my old Camry which was due to be scrapped in early February. Would recommend this platform for those wanting to buy or sell their cars.
