A timely facelift before the new year arrives...Nice?

First glances

If one dog year is equivalent to seven human years, then what does one “car year” commensurate to? These days, the average lifespan for a car model’s generation seems to be around 5 years – hence, it’s safe to say that one “car year” translates to about 12 human years.

And just like people, modern cars also go through a mid-life crisis. Usually after three to four years after a model is launched, it gets updated - to a point where automotive facelifts have become de rigueur.

No surprises here then. The Latio Sport has also undergone cosmetic changes both inside and out. It seems that even for the so-called “bread & butter” cars, this treatment is compulsory if they want to stay relevant in today’s market.

Nissan has given the Latio a new set of head and taillights, which gives the car a brighter look. The most evident update here is the front grille, which is strikingly reminiscent of the one found on the Presage MPV (I knew there was something strangely familiar about it…).

The Latio Sport Premium which we drove also had new 15-inch alloy rims. They did not look too sharp, so we paid little attention to them…and moved on to exploring the car’s interior instead.
