The successor to the Peugeot 307CC is yet another new coupe-cabriolet model out there.

Gallic style

It’s a little known fact but Peugeot first gave the motoring world the coupe-cabriolet concept way back in 1934 so it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it has pedigree when it comes to such cars.

The Lion’s latest coupe-cabriolet model is the 308CC, Big brother to the 207CC, the 308CC is the replacement to the 307CC. As its name suggests the 308CC is the coupe-convertible version of the 308 hatchback and the third body style in the 308 range.

The 308CC’s overall styling is a combination of the 308 as well as its 307CC predecessor. Peugeot’s styling boffins have gone for the evolutionary route rather than revolutionary. The 308CC’s nose is especially distinctive thanks the trademark gaping radiator grille. New to the 308CC is a very prominent ‘V’ shaped crease on the bonnet that gives it an aggressive snout.

The rear is no less distinctive thanks to uniquely shaped LED tail lamps and a more proportionate rump than previously while the use of chrome strips on the window surrounds give the 308CC a classy feel. Roof up or down, the 308CC is a far better looking machine than its frumpy looking 307CC predecessor.

The roof is electrically operated with just a press of a button situated next to the handbrake. It takes just 20 seconds for the hydraulics and electrics to fold and stow away the two-piece roof into the boot to transform the 308CC from a coupe to cabriolet and vice versa.
