Lexus LS 460 V8 LWB Review
Lex get it on

Lexus updates its flagship model to address its accomplished competitors like the up-coming Audi A8 and best-selling BMW 7 Series

Lex is more

There wasn't much wrong with the LS' styling to begin with

For badge snobs, the LS has always been the definitive Lexus. Unlike the rest of the range, there is no equivalent model from its parent company Toyota to sully its prestigious image. In Japan, previous generations of the LS were sold as the Toyota Celsior until 2006 when the Lexus brand was introduced and this generation, internally known as the USF-series LS served as the first true Lexus model.

Four years on, the LS gets a facelift that sees more changes beneath the sheet metal than on it.
When viewed from the outside, the new LS is almost identical to the original save for a subtly re-designed front grille that features a slight up-turned twist at the ends along with wing mirrors with integrated indicators and ‘puddle lamps' that illuminate the ground just outside the front doors.

There wasn't much wrong with the LS' styling to begin with but at least the effectiveness of its mid-life nip-and-tuck are so subtle that you only notice how fresh the car looks but yet can't really work out why - it's how good facelifts are supposed to be.
