Hybrid Electric

Introduction, Exterior

Compared to our parent’s generation, the world we live in is fast paced and tech based. And as with the changing times, technology is making ever greater strides every day. In order to keep pace with the times, historic brands like Porsche have to adapt to the new world. Even though the brand is more famous for their flat six powerplants, the Panamera debuts a new era for the brand.

Plug-in hybrids, as the name suggests allows you to charge the batteries through a power socket as opposed to traditionally being charged by the engine alone. This,l Porsche says is still possible when the car is being driven but the car’s default mode is electric. And it can travel up to 36km before the engine kicks in to recharge the batteries while keeping the car moving.

Externally, the car differs little from the current facelifted Panamera. The redesigned headlamps afford the car a closer relation to the current 911 series while redesigned tail lights show off the new rear.

But the main difference between the standard Panamera and the S-E Hybrid are the acid green outline on the badges that denotes its hybrid system and the brake calipers that screams its new found efficiency. A design trait that first debuted on the 918 Spyder
