BMW 4 Series Grand Coupe 435i M Sport Review
2 becomes 4

Introduction, Exterior

The Germans have spent the better part of the last half decade carpet bombing every segment in the automotive industry. Creating segments where there weren’t before. And with the new 435i Gran Coupe, it sits somewhat precariously between two segments where it is both a performance coupe and a four door sedan. This would appeal to those yearning for a performance coupe but are held back by its limited space for a family.

Visually, the Gran Coupe looks almost identical to the the Coupe variant lest the additional doors. Casual observers though might even mistake it for the M-Sport equipped 3-series. However, the deep wide snout that distinguishes the coupe from the standard 3-series sedan remains intact. Combined with this M Sport equipped variant and the car can almost pass off as a proper M product.

Dimensions wise, the Gran Coupe shares the same dimensions as the Coupe and this is a good sign. Meaning the extra set of doors shouldn’t have any significant impact on its performance. But as an ode to its more practical accommodations, the roofline has been raised 12mm to improve headroom and comfort for rear passengers.

Sold my car withing a few days. Fast process. However, be ready for dealers to slash price saying need to change tyre, need to repaint, etc during viewing.
