Who would have thought the winner for our Best SUV would be the latest 1.4-litre TSI Volkswagen Tiguan. Despite the humble powerplant, it still manages to rise above the challenge and live up to the expectations of an SUV.
Another plus point of the Tiguan is that its smaller size and lack of a four-wheel drive system means a lighter weight which in turn translates to a peppier drive from the 1.4-litre engine.
The interior is practical and flexible, it’s the sort of car that will see you keeping it for much of its COE lifespan. Even the boot is gargantuan by SUV standards.
Add on to the fact that it has a low CO2 emission and a wallet-friendly fuel economy, you can start to see why it’s a winner in this category.
