This year saw the launch of two titans of the mid-size Japanese sedan market. The Accord has been the mainstay of our local car industry for eight generations. The latest ninth generation saw major upgrades both to its interior and exterior. It was the first of the Japanese makes to feature bright LED headlamps and a clever noise cancelling function that cuts away unwanted noise within the interior. All these innovations earned the Accord a respectable second place in our voter polls.
However, it was the svelte windswept design of the brand new Mazda 6 that captured our votersí attention. Despite the raspy report of the four cylinder powerplant, the car is blessed with a capable chassis that relishes cornering adventures much more than its targeted demographics.
