Despite the luxury sedan category, this year’s nominees are blessed with very decent dynamic prowess in the bends. But more than that, they also represented a shift towards efficiency. Both the Porsche Panamera and the Jaguar XF have downsized from their more aurally pleasing V8s in favour of 3.0 litre turbocharged and supercharged V6s.
Even with the loss of those two cylinders, both cars remain very capable sedans. Both in their ride comfort as well as their handling abilities. Though with the Porsche, the racing DNA is obvious and edges ahead as the favourite for the enthusiastic driver.
