I'm having problems with Rain-X when applied to windscreen as the wipers will jerk when in use. Didn't like the sound produced and hope that the wiper motor will not be damaged due to the jerking.

lchuanglr erm.. think no point lah. think rain-x is a silicon based compound, so the juddering is due to rubber sliding over silicon. just have to wait for it to wear out.

I have some swirls or fine scratches on my windscreen. Any solutions?

22 Jul 2008
MazdaBoy Try brasso and an old towel on the scratches. Old trick I learn from a watch repair guy years back. Really effective for scratches on glass.

I'm looking for a good GPS system to install in my car. Anyone know of a reliable system or are they just overrated?

23 Jul 2008
sumo Just a thought: have you considered the Nokia 6110 Navigator or the Nokia 6210 (which is the successor)? It's got great navigation, better than the Holux unit which I got for $499.

MazdaBoy Never realised that a mobile phone GPS would be as good. However, question is how do you overcome the drive and use your mobile phone GPS? I guess you probably mount the holder on the windscreen?
