Went on a joyride with a friend and this Spec C WRX STi is truly a rally bred monster.
Performance-wise, there's NOTHING within its price range that can vaguely cough up a challenge. You might say 280bhp might not be much for this amount of money but the most valuable lesson I learnt is that the 422Nm of torque is much MUCH more impt. This amt of torque in a 2WD car would be hard to put down onto the road. An S5 "only" has 333Nm? But with AWD, you can put down the torque earlier and harder out of a corner.
That brings me to the suspension. It is quite firm to say the least but it isn't to the point that you wonder if the body of the car is connected directly to the chassis via stout metal bars. It will lean into the corner, but only a bit. It maintains contact with the road like superglue. And that helps the tyres and AWD system to work their magic.
The interior however is lack lustre - as with all Subarus. *Sigh* I wont even say that the plasticky interior is functional, because it isn't. But for what this car is, a rally bred monster, the interior shld be the last thing on your mind.
This is one ride in my life that I'll never forget.
