I had owned the avante before this and my FC is on average 12km/l, when i changed to the elantra in 2014, i tot i shld be getting similar FC as it's newer engine (but heavier body) but was utterly disappointed when i keep getting around 10km/l only (same driving pattern, 50% city, 50% highway). cabin noise is fine but there can be a significant amount of road noise once the tyres harden (abt 2 yrs). Maintenance wise not much issue only grouse is that the stock spark plugs and day running seems to blow out pretty fast. <20k?
When for a brief test drive of the new 2011 Elentra on Sunday with family members. The design is similar to the i45 but smaller. However, the roof line are also lower which those entering the cabin will have to watch out as my wife knocked her head against the roof upon entering the rear seat.
Elite (S/R) modeil which is the only available for test drive came with driver side electronic seat adjuster. 6 sir bags, ESP, Cruise Control, folding side mirror, parking assist systems, EDB/ABS, Keyless Entry (Push Start Stop Button). Dual temperature control climate control air con which you can adjust the temperature for passanger and driver side seperately.
Test drive the car is a breeze, smooth and powerful. The brake is stiff (perhaps too new to the car especially auto).
Only dissappointed is the engine is not the GDi Engine which are available in USA rather it's a MPi Engine which has a lower horsepower (132ps compared to 140ps for GDi) and torque are lower too.
FC on paper is stated at 14km/l which the tested figures are around 11km/l. Only able to know until you owned one.
