Wearnes Automotive, which has been appointed by Polestar as its exclusive partner in Singapore, launches the new brand in Singapore today with the Polestar 2, a four-door fastback.
In a press conference with Polestar executives in Gothenburg, Polestar says that the Polestar 2 is a ‘companion’ to the incumbent Tesla Model 3, rather than a rival, due to the car’s distinctive personality versus the American car. Its aim is to ‘conquest internal combustion engine (ICE) drivers’ rather than to convince Tesla owners out of their cars, Polestar explains.
With a focus on Design, Technology and Sustainability as its three key pillars, Polestar aims to establish itself as a truly enjoyable, premium electric alternative.
The Polestar 2 range in Singapore includes the Long range Dual motor, Long range Single motor and Standard range Single motor. Long range variants are available to order at launch while the Standard range Single motor variant will be available in late Q1 2022.
Indicative prices inclusive of COE, at press time, are $240,000 for the top-end Long range Dual motor and $214,000 for the Long range Single motor. For $16,000, you can option a Performance Pack, which is only available for the dual motor variant and includes Brembo 4-piston brakes and Öhlins Dual Flow Valve (DFV) manually adjustable dampers.
Polestar will operate out of a temporary Polestar Space in Wearnes Tower at 45 Leng Kee Road, while the Official Polestar Space will open early 2022, also located at 45 Leng Kee Road.
