Operation hours on the northbound CTE route will be from 5.30pm to 8pm, cutting off earlier than the current timing by two and a half hours.
Four gantries along the southbound Singapore River Line will end at 7pm instead of 7.30pm. The gantries are at New Bridge Road, South Bridge Road, southbound Fullerton Road and southbound Bayfront Avenue.
According to the LTA, this change means that Chinatown and Shenton Way area can do so without feeling the pinch after 7pm.
Popular feedbacks from motorists received by the LTA were those questioning the need for ERP hours to operate in the later part of the evening. It also said that the implementation of the ERP scheme is focused at targeting to manage road congestion and smoothness.
The tweaks come after it was announced last week by the Transport Ministry that there was scope to fine-tune ERP applications, where trips are by and large home-bound, and where some congestion is tolerable.
The existing Nicoll Highway ERP gantry will also be relocated further down, just before Ophir Flyover, as well as the existing gantry from Crawford Street to Republic Boulevard. The existing gantry at Republic Boulevard will then be removed.
LTA said with these relocations, motorists will be able to access the East Coast Parkway via Nicoll Highway without having to pass through and pay ERP at the Bugis-Marina Centre area.
Works to relocate the gantries will begin in next year.
