Who is the distributor of GAC AION vehicles in Singapore?
Seven years since its establishment, GAC AION, known for collaborations with Toyota and Honda in China, enters the Singapore market with the debut of its Y Plus electric SUV. The launch took place at the brand's new showroom at 24 Leng Kee Road, conducted by brand representatives and authorised distributor, VINCAR EV.
Its battery pack is… indestructible?
AION introduces the world's first Magazine Battery Technology, a breakthrough in battery safety performance. They conducted a rigorous Bullet Penetration Test, surpassing conventional Nail Penetration Tests, with speeds exceeding 980,000 times and larger wound diameters. Despite these extreme conditions, the Magazine Battery exhibited exceptional safety, remaining non-flammable without any incidents of ignition or explosion.
What is the range of the GAC AION Y Plus?
The Y Plus can charge from 20% to 80% in around 40 minutes at a 100kW DC charger. Its onboard AC charger, with a maximum output of 6.6kW, can charge the vehicle from 0% to 100% in 9.5 hours. With a full charge, it offers a combined WLTP range of 430km and a city WLTP range of up to 563km.
It looks rather distinctive
The Y Plus boasts contrasting paint finishes on its trim panels including wheel arches. Full-LED light assemblies, including “Angel Wings” headlights at the front and a sleek LED lightbar at the rear accentuate its distinctiveness. The headlights are a standout feature, no doubt!
Feel good factor in the cabin
The Y Plus offers maximum relaxation with fully reclining front seats, allowing occupants to lay flat and enjoy the view through the panoramic sunroof. It also features a Bongiovi six-speaker premium sound system, along with Apple CarPlay integration.
Balanced tune
It's designed with comfort in mind but doesn't compromise on power. Its Magazine Battery powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, generating 100kW (134hp) and 225Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 9.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 150km/h.
