Fuel Savings Guide: Don’t Let Petrol Eat Your Wallet!
Bit by bit, these habits will make a difference to your fuel bill.

Petrol prices these days are no joke - every trip to the kiosk feels like daylight robbery. Whether you’re on your daily commute, doing Grab runs or just casual weekend jalan-jalan, fuel costs will eat into your monthly expenses.
BUT you don’t need to drive like a turtle or study the science of hypermiling to save fuel. Just tweak a few habits and you’ll see real savings!

1) Don’t drive like you’re racing!
Accelerate smoothly from traffic lights - don’t chiong just to brake at the next red light. Keep your driving predictable. Rushing over a 100 metre stretch just to stop again at the next junction... not worth it bro!
2) Catch the green “wave”
Seeing red ahead? Lift off early, let the car roll instead of accelerating, then hit the brakes. This is one of the biggest fuel-saving tips in the city.
Time it right, glide through green lights without stopping; it’ll pay off!
3) Highway cruisin’
Maintain a steady speed, between 70-80km/h, and don’t keep changing lanes. You’ll burn less fuel at a consistent speed.
Let our egos chill - let speedsters pass, they’ll feel the burn soon enough!
4) Avoid peak hours (whenever you can)!
We know it’s easier said than done, but try to use alternative, smoother routes even if it’s slightly longer. Idling and inching forward? That’s fuel disappearing for nothing!
5) Don’t lug a mobile storeroom
Some drivers carry hefty tools and other barang-barang every time they hit the road. Only carry what you need for that journey; leave that 24kg kettlebell at home!
6) Strike a balance with aircon
No AC while driving?! No way, bro!
But you can set it around 24-25 degrees, use recirculation mode, and park in sheltered carparks where possible. Less fuel will be used when there’s less strain on the AC compressor.

7) Don’t neglect the tyres
Underinflated tyres means more drag, which leads to the engine working harder. Check your tyre pressure regularly, pump to the recommended pressure - cheap fix, big savings!
8) Don’t skip servicing cycles, please!
It’s actually worse if you skip servicing your car in an attempt to save money. An efficient engine burns less fuel, so always clean the air filter, use the correct engine oil and replace wear and tear parts promptly.
