What we dislike:

Lifeless steering

not exactly affordable

Like the other A5 Sportback models, the S5 Sportback offers useable leg and headroom at the rear for two average sized passengers despite its coupe like profile and silhouette. The boot is a gargantuan and well-shaped one but you do need some muscle power to shut the big and heavy tailgate - an electrically operated one would be nice.

As you'd expect, the S5 Sportback is fully loaded with standard kit which includes cruise control, keyless operation, Xenon adaptive lights, electrical adjustments for the front seats, glass sunroof, three zone climate control, B & O sound system with DAB broadcast, Bluetooth interface, sat nav and so on. For an additional $4,316, one can opt for the sports differential for even more dynamic handling.

Style always comes at a price and the S5 Sportback is no different as it'll set you back more than the more conventional looking S4 saloon. The latter is definitely the better choice if you require slightly more space or practicality but the S5 Sportback certainly feels and looks more unique and more special.
