Handling isn't as inspiring as the Porsche Boxster S

The TT RS Roadster's cabin has been enhanced with an all dark grey interior trim scheme, even more leather, bespoke instruments, side sills with TT RS logos, that lovely gear knob, alloy pedals and flat-bottomed steering wheel among other stuff. The test car came with standard sports seats with electrical adjustments. Hardcore types can opt for two piece buckets with manual adjustments that look like the sports seats in the R8 that not only look brilliant but also hug you snugly in the corners - clumsy types though, will find that ingress and egress with the sports seats not such a straightforward and simple thing as the thick side bolsters can really get in the way. Unlike the coupe though, the Roadster has no interior space behind the front seats and hence seats only two.

Just like the other TT Roadster models, the topless TT RS feature full electric operation for its cloth hood. An added bonus is the mechanism's ability to operate on the move at speeds of up to 50km/h.

In introducing the TT RS range with the S-Tronic gearbox, Audi has not only made the sportiest TT Roadster more enjoyable and quicker but also widen its appeal to those who previously who wouldn't have considered the TT RS Roadster as they either loathe or can't change gears on their own.

Despite its stupendous straightline speed that has the ability to shame exotic machinery twice its price and desirability, the enthusiast driver will find that the TT RS Roadster's closest rival, the Porsche Boxster S, the more satisfying and rewarding drive. But for most average drivers, the TT RS Roadster with the S-Tronic gearbox offers one of the most exhilarating drives they will ever have.
