Citreon C1 1.0i Review: The Little Hatch That Could
The battle for the sub-compact class is heating up. As if it wasn't hard enough choosing between a Picanto, R1, R2 or even a Smart, Cycle and Carriage France has made things even more difficult with the addition of a competitively priced Citroen C1.

Lets see, for $50,988 it isn’t exactly cheap, eating into the 1.6 litre class of cars from Korea and so forth, but that’s missing the point entirely.
Firstly, the C1 does hold a 4 star NCAP rating that goes for both adult and child protection. However, being the typical European in design and development, you would expect nothing less. You get ventilated disc brakes up front with drums in the rear. There are anti-lock brakes, electronic brake distribution, Cornering Stability Control AND driver/passenger airbags, all in such a small package.
The family man doesn’t miss out either as ths C1 comes with ISOFIX seatbelt mounts for mounting that child seat and securing the baby while cornering at insane speeds.
Finally, the car is so light, with its 1 litre three cylinder, it not only has a good power to weight ratio, but it also has the prowess to take on many bigger, heavier cars in the abovementioned category at the lights, and in the populated streets of Singapore anytime, any day.
To top it all off, the road tax that one might pay for this car is just but a fraction of a 1.6 litre sedan. At the end of the day, we think that this supercompact makes a realistic environmentally friendly alternative in this day and age, where hybrids are still in their early stages of production.
