Kia Forte Koup 2.0 Review: Style and substance

Kia Forte Koup 2.0 Review: Style and substance

"Nothing succeeds like success" goes the saying, and it couldn't be more true than for the Kia Cerato Forte range. From stylish sedan that everybody wants, a stunning coupe with a ‘krazy' name, Kia is on a roll, and the Forte is their golden goose that just can't stop laying golden eggs. But is it a fluke and a flash-in-the-pan, or is Kia a serious big time contender? A drive in the Forte Koup 2.0 shows just how serious Kia is.

What we like:
pros
Style and finish are impressively high. 2-litre engine allows for more relaxed cruising.
What we dislike:
cons
Four-speed autobox is competent rather than state-of-the-art or sporty

What is impressive though, is roll back the sunroof, and allow the sun to come into the black and red cabin. As a classy boulevard cruiser and grand tourer the Koup feels like a complete package combining both style, glamour and space in a single vehicle - there is actually very little that a more expensive 4-seater coupe can offer except perhaps a prestigious brand name, and definitely a less ‘korny' name.

The Koup's style (both inside and out), as well as quality of finish are impressively high, and even from behind the wheel, it feels substantial and well-built.

In an impressively short time Kia has moved from obscure Korean to mainstream, and now with the Koup, something actually desirable. Couple this with an unbelievably attractive price, and the Koup is an unbeatable proposition.
