Mercedes-Benz E 300 (AVANTGARDE) Review: Old guard, new face

What we like:

Plenty of standard equipment and safety features

luxurious interior feels expensive

car's ride makes you feel as if you're wafting on air.

What we dislike:

Design is strangely rear-heavy

significant kerb weight blunts engine's performance

image still doesn't appeal to the younger crowd.

Notwithstanding the "old man" image, the new E-Class is a luxury car that's worthy of its expensive price tag. Mercedes-Benz has addressed quality issues with this car - now, what they need to do is focus on appealing to younger drivers. In the meantime, those seeking a luxury car that can pamper its occupants whilst simultaneously keeping them safe will be duly impressed with this one.
