What we like:
pros
Quality interior paired with decent driving dynamics and a high equipment level.
What we dislike:
cons
Keyless entry system requires you to hold the button for two seconds before the engine comes to life.

A basic infotainment system takes up the centre console. Equipped with the KESSY keyless entry function as standard, the start button is placed in an awkward position hidden under the centre console. Unlike most keyless entry systems that feature a one press start, the Volkswagen system requires you to press and hold for two seconds before the engine fires up.

The steering wheel features the usual comforts of wheel mounted controls for the essential functions. And the decently sized wheel makes piloting the modestly sized sedan a cinch around carparks.

Rear seats are also enjoy the same spaciousness experienced in the front which makes this a rather comfortable sedan for a family of five. Legroom is generous even with a tall driver like myself. And like a premium sedan, the rear seats get their own aircon blowers. Boot capacity is impressively capacious at 510 litres and places above the Corolla Altis’s 470 litres. Folding 60:40 seats expands this volume further when needed.

Volkswagen continues to be the most dominant continental make in the Cat A COE market and with the latest Jetta, its place is securely entrenched within what was previously a Japanese stronghold.
