Performance Motors Ltd (PML), a Sime Darby Motors company and trusted authorised dealer of BMW cars and motorcycles in Singapore since 1979, is commemorating its 45th anniversary this year. PML is not only celebrating its heritage but also gearing up for a significant transformation and expansion phase to elevate its success in the industry.

The company is strategically investing in retail transformation, digitalisation and expanding its service network nationwide to solidify its position as the top BMW dealer in Singapore. PML is also steadfast in its commitment to promoting sustainability practices.

New retail concept

PML is celebrating its anniversary with a significant retail transformation of its flagship showroom at 303 Alexandra Road, expected to be completed by Q3 2024. This showroom, spanning nearly 6,800 square metres, will be Singapore's largest BMW Retail.Next showroom, emphasising the integration of physical and digital spaces to enhance customer experiences.

During the renovation, PML opened a 600-square-metre pop-up showroom at East Coast Centre (Kampong Arang) to ensure uninterrupted service.

Defining digitisation

PML is embracing digitalisation to provide tailored customer experiences. Through a QR ordering system at its showroom café, customers can order food and drinks conveniently. Additionally, the enhanced mobile app allows for easy scheduling of service appointments, online check-ins and contactless key drop services. The app also offers a breakfast menu for pre-selection during check-in, ensuring a comfortable experience at the customer lounge. PML is also exploring facial recognition technology to improve operational efficiency.

Most complete dealer network in Singapore

PML is undergoing its most significant network expansion yet to elevate the ownership experience for BMW customers. It has recently inaugurated a new contactless service centre in Ubi, catering to the growing customer base in the north-east of Singapore. This centre offers convenient key drop-off and collection, after-hours servicing and complimentary electric shuttle service to nearby MRT stations, car pick-up, delivery and airport transfers.

PML has also recently opened its fourth service facility in Defu. The Defu Service Factory, is a 4,074sqm space that incorporates mechanical service and body shop capabilities, along with a smart aftersales portal to streamline workflow. With service facilities now in Alexandra, East Coast, Ubi, and Defu, PML aims to provide comprehensive support to BMW owners across Singapore, furthering its commitment to delivering premium services island-wide.

Exclusive events for customers

PML will continue to provide a range of exclusive events for its customers, including lifestyle, sporting and adventurous driveaways. These invite-only gatherings will cater to motorsports enthusiasts through the Performance Motorsports Circle (PMC) and offer activities for golf lovers via the Performance Motors Golf Association (PMGA). PML's partnerships, such as with the Business Times Corporate Golf League, will further enhance the experiences for BMW customers.

Champions of sustainability

PML received the prestigious overall grand prize at the Polaris Sustainability Awards by BMW Group Asia in 2023, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices. Going forward, PML plans to continue its collaboration with BMW to promote sustainability - initiatives such as the CEO Sustainability Challenge and EV workshops will be expanded to encourage wider adoption of electro-mobility.

PML's Green Initiative, which successfully saved 1 million litres of water by encouraging customers to opt out of complimentary car washes during servicing, demonstrates the company's dedication to environmental conservation. Separately, PML will partner with NParks again for the Plant-a-Tree program, furthering its commitment to sustainability by planting a tree for every 30 car washes saved.
