There are several types of ABS systems which can be installed in a vehicle depending on the vehicle type. A four channel system is the most common. In this type of system, there is a separate speed sensor and control valve for each wheel. With this type of implementation, an ABS is at its maximum capability. Other types of ABS systems have fewer channels. These are usually found on pickup trucks where the ABS controls the rear wheels only.
