Endless hours of used cars hunting doesn't always end up fruitful. We toggle with filters, stray from our priorities and before we know it, find ourselves staring at vehicle values that are truly cosmic.

Well, that’s part of the fun of online classifieds - browsing without burning deep holes in our wallet. Our exploits this round takes us to uncharted territories, as we’re talking about million dollar machines. In a country that requires a certificate to drive a car? That makes their prices even tougher to swallow, because their annual depreciation is rather mind-blowing.

That being said, the top one percent wouldn’t even flinch splashing the cash on these cars. If the new car route is not their cup of tea, let’s find out what the extremely well heeled can purchase on Carousell’s used car classifieds.

2021 Ferrari SF90 Stradale

Price: S$1,790,000

Annual depreciation: S$204,000

Relying on the numerical arms race isn't sufficient to appeal to a typical Ferrari buyer. But when the subject is the SF90 Stradale, we’re talking about 3 electric motors, nearly 1,000hp, 390kg worth of downforce and 2.5 seconds to reach 100km/h. Numbers alone will set pulses racing, even in this fully electrified age.

Wrapped in a design directed by Flavio Manzoni (the man who also led styling projects for the LaFerrari and F12berlinetta), smash hit status is secured. Combination of aluminum and carbonbifre contribute to weigh this PHEV in at less than 1,600kg dry, even after including 270kg worth of electricals.

2023 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

Price: S$820,000

Annual depreciation: S$86,000

Not all performance vehicles need to be lightweight, corner-carving rear-wheel drive coupes, according to the G-Wagon. It sits on the other end of the sporty scale, with its body on frame chassis housed in boxy sheetmetal.

That’s exactly the appeal consumers are after, with its military offroader provenance probably elevating its macho factor. Sure, the top dog G63 is powered by a familiar 4.0-litre V8, but none of its siblings could tread paths less explored. Side-planted exhausts alone justifies its broad-shouldered attitude.

2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet 3.8A PDK

Price: S$950,000

Annual depreciation: S$104,000

When we think of the best Porsches, a rear-wheel drive, naturally aspirated manual coupe with a big wing will most likely be top of mind. Dial it down a notch, up the luxe factor and we’ll be looking at a contrasting, yet increasingly alluring end of the spectrum.

In a Porsche era fed with electric Macans and hybrid 911s, a chopped-top 911 Turbo S sounds like the perfect antidote. 2 turbos, 3.8 litres of flat six magic, AWD, colossal 641hp and 800Nm are numbers not to be scoffed at. With top-down motoring in short supply, there’s no cooler, more engaging way to close this chapter.
