Product Review: VEHO Muvi HD Pro Video Camera

Product Review: VEHO Muvi HD Pro Video Camera

MUVI Pro Video Camera for the car and the sportsman driver thanks to its myrid of accessories that fit from car to bike to helmet and even the water for some snorkelling fun.  It captures all the action in HD glory at 30 fps with no fuzzy images.  What it lacks is the car centric features that drivers would love to have.

For it to be more useful for a vehicle video recorder, a tweak to its power source management and voice recorder should be looked into.
What we like:
pros
- Full HD Recording Wide angled camera at 160 degree - High frame rate  Small and Versatile   - Accessories galore   - Remote controller included
What we dislike:
cons
- Runs hot after the drive Monitor is on all the while. - May be distracting as video screen is always on.   - Do not switch on after car is fired up.   Voice activation a tad too sensitive.   - Have some issues adjusting from darkness to brightness

The camera also do date and time stamp on the footages in the event that the footage is to be used in an insurance claim. The camera comes with an 8GB microSD card and it should be sufficient since the camera does loop recording, writing over the old video files.

Footage quality aside, what it lack most are car centric features such as the ability of the camera to be automatically switched on when the car is started.

The camera can also start recording if it detects any sound but the unit is also quite sensitive and it records images even when there is not much happening in front of it.

The 15" LCD screen also cannot be switched off when driving, which can be a dangerous distraction for any driver.

The MUVI HD Pro is a neat little device that is jack of all trades. However for it to be more useful for a vehicle video recorder, a tweak to its power source management and voice recorder should be looked into.

For the active drivers who does more than get behind the wheel and wants some sporting action to be recorded, the MUVI Pro HD proves to be a handy companion.
