Eurokars EV, a subsidiary of Eurokars Group, has brought IM Motors to Singapore with the debut of its flagship IM5 electric sedan and IM6 electric SUV. Focused on intelligent mobility, IM Motors integrates advanced digital chassis technology, safety, performance and digital connectivity. The question lingering on most of our minds: will there be Cat A-eligible variants? Absolutely.

What are some key tech highlights?

The IM5 and IM6 are built on the IM Digital Chassis, a software-defined architecture. Key features include four-wheel steering, a high-performance braking system by Continental, lightweight aluminium alloy double wishbone front suspension, multi-link independent rear suspension and continuous damping control and advanced air suspension. Both upgraded dampers and suspension systems are featured on the 100kWh variant.

IM EV batteries are built with advanced safety in mind, combining multi-layered protection and rigourous testing. The proprietary battery design uses nearly 200 sheets of aviation-grade aerogel insulation to limit heat transfer, while the Phase Change Supermaterial (PSG) Firewall absorbs extreme heat and shields the cells, enduring up to 1,000°C for over 10 minutes to safeguard passengers.

The IM5 Sedan and IM6 SUV feature aerodynamic designs for better efficiency and stability, with space-grade cabins using double-glazed glass. A 20-speaker system provides immersive audio, and the IM Mag Hub allows the cabin to be adapted for multiple uses, such as campsites, dressing rooms or mobile studies. Both models are offered in six colours.

Now for the IM5 sedan variants

For the Cat A-specific IM5 (S$253,888), you’ll be looking at the Luxury RWD 75kWh with a WLTP city range of 560km. 190kW and 450Nm brings it to 100km/h in 10.05 seconds. It’s based on a 400V platform (unlike the other two variants), with DC charging rated at 153kW.

Moving up the range, the Cat B Sport RWD 100kWh (S$303,888) has a range of 820km (WLTP city). 300kW and 500Nm helps it on to the century sprint in 4.6 seconds. Based on a 800V platform, it allows for a max DC charging speed of 396kW, just like its pricier Performance variant.

The most performance-leaning spec will be the Performance AWD 100kWh (S$355,888) with 701km WLTP city range. Combined output of 572kW and 802Nm of torque from both motors urges it on to a rather mind-bending 3.2 seconds. These are list prices, before rebates and discounts.

What about the IM6 SUV?

Cat A-eligible Luxury RWD 75kWh with 468km city range WLTP is listed at S$256,888. 0-100km/h is dispatched in 11.3 seconds, with 109kW and 450Nm on tap. Max DC charging is rated at 153kW. AC charging, regardless of platforms and variants, are tagged at 11kW.

For Cat B variants, the Sport RWD 100kWh (S$306,888) will have a WLTP city range of 725km. 300kW and 500Nm pushes it to 100km/h in a much faster 5.4 seconds. Max 396kW DC charging speed allows for a 10-80% charging time of 18 minutes. That’s the same duration as the 100kWh Performance version.

The top-tier Performance AWD 100kWh has a range of 642km (WLTP in the city). With 572kW and 802Nm from two motors, it’ll reach 100km/h in 3.48 seconds. It’s the only IM6 variant that falls under A2 VES banding.
