Top-end MINIs we grew up loving have always been those pint-sized, nippy warriors with go kart-like handling. While they’ve certainly grown physically, they’re still considered compact when pitched against the ever-diminishing hot hatch segment. Trademark JCW design cues are still apparent, to force home the point that they still appeal to the thrill-seeking driving enthusiast.

In Singapore, MINI Asia and Eurokars Habitat have unveiled the all-new MINI John Cooper Works lineup. For the first time, the range includes two fully electric variants - the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and John Cooper Works Aceman. The lineup also includes the petrol-powered MINI John Cooper Works and Convertible, as well as the all-wheel-drive Countryman ALL4.

How can I tell that it’s a new JCW?

Apart from red and black interior details, you’ll get JCW sports seats with black leatherette and multi-coloured knit accents, and a matching dashboard design. A Harman Kardon sound system comes standard. A JCW-exclusive go-kart mode sharpens steering and throttle response, too, and data is shown via its OLED display showing performance data like torque, power and g-force.

MINI JCW Electric (S$257,888) and JCW Aceman EV (S$264,888)

The new fully electric MINI John Cooper Works Electric and Aceman each deliver up to 258hp and 350Nm, with an extra 20kW of boost. JCW-specific suspension and standard high-performance tyres ensure sharp, agile handling. Design elements like the red roof, motorsport-inspired JCW logo and aerodynamic features reflect MINI’s racing legacy. The JCW Electric offers a range of up to 371km, while the Aceman reaches up to 355km on a single charge.

Petrol-powered JCW hot hatch (S$284,888) and JCW Convertible (S$312,888)

If you’re not convinced by EVs yet, JCW is still serving piston-powered flvaours in the form of the hot hatch and convertible. Both are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo engine producing 231hp and 380Nm of torque, mated to a dual-clutch transmission. The hot hatch accelerates from 0 - 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the Convertible completes the run in 6.4 seconds. The Convertible’s soft top opens in 18 seconds at up to 30km/h.

Petrol-powered JCW Countryman ALL4 (S$317,888)

The all-new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 is the largest model, combining sporty performance with off-road capability thanks to its “ALL4” all-wheel drive. It delivers 300hp, 400Nm of torque, and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.
