25 years ago, Aston Martin launched the V12 Vanquish, an all-new model that became its most advanced car at the time. Debuting in 2001, it packed a 6.0-litre V12 with 460bhp, an F1-style paddle-shift gearbox and early drive-by-wire tech. Its aluminium and carbonfibre construction marked a big engineering step, and it was the last model built at Newport Pagnell.

Well received, it later spawned S and Ultimate versions and became a key part of Aston Martin’s modern identity.

The second-generation Vanquish arrived in 2012, taking cues from the One-77 with a full carbonfibre body that was lighter and stiffer. Its updated 6.0-litre V12 made 565 bhp, good for 0 - 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and 183mph. It also brought upgrades like dual variable valve timing and carbon ceramic brakes, and was offered in coupe, Volante and higher-performance S variants.

In 2024, the third-generation Vanquish moved the game on again. Now the flagship front-engined model, it uses a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 with 835 PS and 1000 Nm, making it the most powerful Aston Martin yet. Built on a bonded aluminium structure with advanced suspension and standard carbon ceramic brakes, it blends performance, luxury and design, with production limited to under 1,000 cars a year.

Aston Martin CEO, Adrian Hallmark, said: “Since its arrival 25 years ago, the Vanquish nameplate has been synonymous with something special; something ambitious, different and daring.”

“Over those years Vanquish has grown into a true Aston Martin icon and, in 2026, it remains nothing less than a symbol of what this exceptional British marque is capable of creating. Like the fortunate owners who have chosen to add one, or more, of the three generations of Vanquish to their collections since 2001 I am immensely proud of what this model represents.”
