Speculated to be a 2-seater, the BMW's new supercar will take on the likes of Audi's R8 and Mercedes Benz's upcoming SLC.
And while the Bavarian uber-auto will pack plenty of firepower to stay ahead of its competitors, the car will include "green technologies" usually only seen in hybrids.
Direct-injection, a stop/start function, and energy regeneration from braking are some of the possible features that can be incorporated. In homage to the M1 supercar of yesteryear, the successor will also have its engine mid-mounted. The M1's styling cues are expected to also be a key feature of this new model.
