BMW Owners, Activate Your Festive Animation On BMW ConnectedDrive Now!

Throughout August, BMW Asia is offering Singapore drivers a special festive animation on their vehicle displays to celebrate both Singapore’s journey since independence and BMW Group Asia’s 40th anniversary. Compatible BMW owners can access this animation, which includes a themed soundtrack and red-and-white ambient lighting, by selecting a custom icon on the iDrive system.

This animation is available to BMW owners in Singapore with BMW ConnectedDrive capabilities and BMW Operating System 7, 8, 8.5 and 9.

“Following the creation of the BMW i7 Singapore Icons, the festive animation is an extra special touch for our customers in Singapore as we continue to honour the Nation’s independence,” said Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia. “This exclusive greeting is a celebration of national pride, shared progress, and BMW’s enduring partnership with the nation. Furthermore, it demonstrates our commitment to innovation and creating connections with the BMW community in Singapore.”

The animation opens in black and white with a BMW i7 crossing Anderson Bridge, passing historic buildings that gradually turn to colour, symbolising Singapore’s journey to modernity. It then features reflections of Changi Control Tower and a plane on the car’s roof, highlighting aviation’s role in the economy.

As day fades to night, the BMW passes iconic sites like the Merlion and Gardens by the Bay Supertrees. The final scene showcases Singapore’s skyline with five famous landmarks - the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum and Merlion - ending with the message, “Happy Birthday Singapore.”
