Cat A and Cat B COEs down in February's First Bidding Exercise

This Chinese New Year saw some downward movement to the COE prices. I know some of us have gotten our wish, with more reachable prices. This afternoon saw 4,426 successful bids out of a total of 6,081 received during the month’s first bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs).

Quota of 2,060 @ 48,401, down from $50,889

Category A (cars 1,600cc and below, and have a maximum power of 130bhp),


Quota of 1,366 @ $48,209, down from $52,807

Category B (cars above 1,600cc, and have a more than 130bhp),


Quota of 164 @ $48,901, up from $47,001

The Commercial vehicle Category C,


Quota of 348 @ $6,412, down from $6,052

Motorcycle Category D,


Quota of 488 @ $48,556, down from $52,600

Open Category E,

Bids can be submitted through the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of DBS/POSB, the Internet Banking facility of UOB, or via the OCBC phone banking services.

The bid deposit for COEs in Categories A, B, C and E is $10,000 per bid while that for Category D is $200 per bid.
