A special ‘virtual’ sale conducted by BCA on behalf of Citroen in July sold 400 cars for a 100% conversion and generated a turnover in excess of £3 million.

The Citroen Virtual Sale took place on 20 July at theOakley Court Hotel in Windsor, UK and attracted nearly 50 Citroen dealers from all over the UK.

The auction took place via a giant screen where BCA’s auctioneers and the Citroen dealers were gathered. A comprehensive selection of vehicles were offered, including the market debut of the DS3, alongside C1, C2, C3, C3 Pluriel and C3 Picasso, C4 and C4 Picasso, C5 and C5 Tourer, C6, C8, Grand Picasso and C-Crosser. Commercial vehicles included Berlingo, Dispatch, Nemo and Relay.

Every vehicle sold for a 100% conversion that generated £3.07 million, with values averaging 100% of CAP Clean.

Twelve examples of the new DS3 were offered were the first time at auction and sold at an average in excess of £12,700, equivalent to 109.6% of CAP Clean. Michael Brown Head of Remarketing for Citroën UK commented “This represents a tremendous achievement and reflects the massive interest the DS3 has generated among motorists and the media alike.”

A total of 58 C1 models were sold for an average of 101.68% of CAP Clean, with C3 averaging 104.26% and C3 Picasso averaging 105.25%. C4 averaged just under 104% of CAP Clean, while C-Crosser realised 101.24%.

Michael Brown added “The presentation by BCA was to the highest standards and everything ran smoothly. This was an outstanding high volume event that achieved an exceptionally strong CAP price performance across the board.”

BCA’s General Manager Corporate sales Kathy Horsey added “This debut Virtual sale for Citroen was well-supported by the dealer network, which is reflected in the excellent price performance across the board. By selling 400 cars for an average of CAP Clean at a time when wholesale prices have been under pressure, Citroen clearly have a product range that is proving highly desirable at retail level.”
